Gear Position Sensor – Bentley Continental GT GTC Flying Spur DCT

The gear position sensor detects the current position of the shift mechanism in the 8-speed DCT transmission and transmits this information to the transmission control unit. Based on the sensor signals, the control unit monitors whether the selected gear position corresponds to the actual position in the transmission. A defective or malfunctioning sensor can cause shifting errors, implausible gear position readings, a transmission warning message, or activation of limp mode. Depending on the type of fault, engagement of individual gears may also be impaired, or the control unit may prevent a gear change.
