Clutch Solenoid Valve – Volkswagen Crafter Shiftmatic
The clutch solenoid valve (marked with ‘QPV’) is responsible for actuating the clutch in the Shiftmatic system. A faulty valve can cause problems with clutch engagement, such as shuddering, delayed and harsh engagement, or even a complete failure of clutch actuation.
Pressure Accumulator – Volkswagen Crafter Shiftmatic
The pressure accumulator is responsible to store the pressure of the hydraulic system for later access by the actuators. This piston type accumulator has two cells: one cell storing the hydraulic fluid and one cell containing a Nitrogen gas filling which creates the counterpressure. Both cells are separated by a moving piston. Typical symptoms of a faulty pressure accumulator are frequent and short pump cycles. If there is no more preload pressure left in the accumulator, the pump runs every few seconds, which ultimately leads to a consequential damage of the pump motor. Along with the pump motor, a faulty pressure accumulator is one of the most common causes of pressure build-up issues and is one of the few wear parts in the system that should be regularly checked and replaced if necessary.
We offer a brand-new replacement accumulator.
Pressure Sensor – Volkswagen Shiftmatic
The pressure sensor is responsible to detect the hydraulic pressure in the accumulator of the Shiftmatic system. This is an original and brandnew spare part.
Pump Motor – Volkswagen Shiftmatic
The pump motor drives the gear pump, which generates the pressure for the Shiftmatic transmission. Both parts together form the hydraulic pump. Without hydraulic pressure, the transmission cannot perform any action – neither change gears, nor operate the clutch. Therefore, the hydraulic pump is the most important component in the system.
In most cases, it is sufficient to replace only the electric motor, as this is a wearing part. The gear pump fails only very rarely. Another advantage is that when only the pump motor is changed, the hydraulic system does not need to be bled afterwards, unless it has been opened.
We sell an original, brand new Magneti Marelli spare part – the same part you would get from Volkswagen.
Pump Relay – Volkswagen Shiftmatic
The electromagnetic relay is responsible to turn on / off the hydraulic pump of the Volkswagen Shiftmatic system. A broken relay causes the pump to fail priming. Without hydraulic pressure, the system cannot engage the gears or clutch.
This is not an original part, but an OE part.
Selection Solenoid Valve – Volkswagen Crafter Shiftmatic
The selection solenoid valve (marked ‘OOV’) is responsible for moving the gear selector sideways to select gear pairs. If this two-way on/off valve fails, the car may be unable to engage one or more gears. Note: the product photo is for illustrative purposes only, the valve is supplied without the Magneti Marelli sticker.
Shift Solenoid Valve – Volkswagen Crafter Shiftmatic
The shift solenoid valves (marked ‘PPV’) are responsible for engaging the gears in the Shiftmatic gearbox. There are two of these pressure-proportional valves mounted on the hydraulic unit. Working in conjunction with the selection valve, they operate the shift actuator. If either valve is faulty, the car may be unable to engage one or more gears.
Solenoid Valve Seal Kit – Volkswagen Crafter Shiftmatic
- Seal kit for the solenoid valves
- Includes seals for all four valves
- Solution to eliminate internal leaks
Transmission Speed Sensor – Volkswagen Shiftmatic
This sensor provides the speed signal of the transmission input shaft. The speed signal is required by the control unit to control the transmission system, adjusting properly the shaft speeds before engaging and disengaging the different gears.
